"St.Martha's is one of the very best when it comes to answering the call for our community. When we're needed, the church says, 'here I am'"- Rev. Edward C. Fitzpatrick

Parish Social Ministry is . . .
A response to the cry of the poor;
A response to our neighbor in need;
A response to our Baptismal call;
A response to the mandate of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Parish social ministry lives out of Catholic Social Teaching and its belief in the life, dignity, and rights of the individual. It recognizes that dignity, and responds to needs, whatever they may be.

Here at St. Martha's, we are deeply committed to direct service. First and foremost, we make ourselves available to listen to life circumstances which bring up pain and anguish. Weattempt to respond concretely to associated needs, advocate for the individual, and guide them in finding their strength to help themselves.

St. Martha's Social ministry has an Outreach Program, staffed primarily by volunteers, that offersservices including a Food Pantry, Thrift Shop, Immigration Counseling, employment services, referral services, housing assistance, advocacy, and in some cases financial assistance.

Social Ministry also encompasses the Public Policy Education Network, which lends a voice regarding various issues affecting our community, an ESL Program, promoting fluency in the English language, and aid the less fortunate in cooperation with the St. vincent de Paul Society.
